Brown couldn't win if he went round everyones house with a gun.

Nobody could win it, either for Brown, or for Labour. Any potential replacement leader would be contaminated within 12 weeks, anyway, look what happened to Brown.
The self-indulgence of a leadership change now would be very damaging, at a time when the government should be concentrating on the economy.

No! Don't mention guns in the same sentence as McBroon; Gunman Kills Voters. Remember it started in America...

Headline: Why McBroon Needs Global Bargain Ploy To Work.
From the BBC: speaking at a joint press conference in Milan with Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi, Mr Brown defended Britain's levels of debt claiming it was one of the lowest of the major economies.
"That is substantially lower than Germany, and France and America and Japan and Italy. So I can just say to you while every country is having to borrow to invest in the future, our national debt remains substantially lower than is the case in many other countries," he said.
And how does the Global Bargain work?
Mcbroon said "I believe that if each continent can work together to inject resources into their economies, all of these economies would be as severely fooked as ours and thus I will continue to be able to say what I said before".
Which was?
"That Britain's levels of debt is one of the lowest of the major economies, er...comparatively speaking of course."
He continued "It's going to be a tough job but I'm yer man for it. After all remember that these twats also bought those AAA rated synthetic 'asset backed securities' laced with subprime loans that were created in America. So nay problem laddie".
Not many words have been changed in the making of this point; with thanks to BBC Politics. With additional material from Ambrose Silk (material, silk; get it?).
Ho, ho; forget it, pub beckons.

Sorry if this has been posted already - PR Week today said
"Derek Draper, editor of LabourList, has rejected suggestions that his web strategy is too Westminster-focused. He told PRWeek: 'There is a massive spread of issues on the website. It should be about the whole country and the Westminster village is part of that.'
He also pointed out that top Labour politicians were onside: ‘When I have asked them to do something for LabourList, not a single member of the Cabinet has been anything other than keen.’
Draper was speaking in the wake of rumours that his web tactics were dividing the party.
One Labour insider claimed: ‘There are lots of people at all sorts of levels of the party very uncomfortable with the Derek Draper ego show.’
But Cabinet Office minister Tom Watson told PRWeek that Draper was doing ‘sterling work’.
Meanwhile, LabourHome’s Alex Hilton said: ‘The one thing that Derek really has brought to the table is that he has delivered buy-in from senior figures.’
Fellow LabourHome founder Jag Singh said: ‘He has done a good job of getting upper echelons to buy into his project.’
Blogging Labour MP Paul Flynn was also supportive, saying: ‘We were underperforming before. It is nice to have a presence at all.’
Assume this was before Mr Draper's outing yesterday

Look I know you all will think this is an utterly bonkers and fantastically idiotic idea but bear with me.
Is it just possible that John Prescott would be elected as a caretaker leader of the Labour Party on platform of nationalising the banks, guaranteeing jobs for UK workers and rescuing the housing market with public money?
If Brown were suddenly deposed or taken ill or resigned I am sure Prescott would agree to lead the party into the next election and who would stand in his way?
He would take the job on the basis he would get to be Prime Minister for a while and quite possibly save the party from oblivion and then stand down.
He would surely reconcile right and left of the party much as he has done in the Brown - Blair Govt of the past ten years.
Do you think he would be more popular than Harman in a back bench secret ballot if it was held tomorrow? I think so.
I watched him on TV a few nights back and I just kept thinking this is a man who understands the media in its widest sense, he is authentic, he comes across as credible. He may mangle his words but that is not important.

@ Bill Quango MP (2.59pm):
Sir,
I apologise for my delayed reply to you. I have only just arrived back from lunch.
You are indeed correct when you say I mastered my brief many years ago. I've filled in expenses forms in countless different and creative ways. As far as I''m concerned the '97 intake are still rank amateurs. I'm thinking of giving a master class in the subject. How much per hour do you think I should charge for the benefit of my wisdom and experience?
Please keep me informed of how you get on with your new system for avoiding having to deal with constituents. I am always interested in ways of cutting down my workload.
Hope you enjoy the recess.
Regards,

The headline says it all really doesn't it? I thought Blue Digital were very restrained really, all things being equal. How much harm has it done the company for it to be publically known that they were approached by that absolute loser Incapability Brown?
