I can already hear you yawning. Well you shouldn't be. Bearing in mind he is an independent, apolitical public figure, he couldn't be more damning about the government's handling of the economy if he tried. Take this excerpt.."

Independent and apolitical my arse! Bundred's a Labour party placeman, a former playmate of Arthur Scargill, an ex GLC Councillor, who has close connections to the Mills Bros and Jowell, and well, well dodgy. During his time working for corrupt looney left Council's like Hackney and Camden, Bundred left a trail of sleaze brutally covering up for corrupt Labour councillors and officials by harassing and sacking anyone who had the temerity to question their shady doings, creating a climate of fear. There's even a damning EU fraud report- quietly shelved- that fixes Bundred's involvement in the rifling of hundreds of thousands of pounds in EU funds, via pals in Camden Council, to a dodgy organisation called the Migrant Training Company. And lets not mention the Provisionals..ah the folly of youth! It's about time someone joined the dots on this Bundred guy, who uses his role in the Audit Commission to devise measures designed to ensure Labour Council's don't look as shit as we all know they are.Bundred was appointed to the Commission by Jowell's brother in law, the then Chairman (Cllr)John Mills to continue their Camden Council double act. Foxes in charge of the chicken coop. You clearly don't read back issues of Private Eye, but even so they only got the tip of iceberg about this Labour Party sleazball.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/s...

http://www.kirkbytimes.co.u...

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

Well, obviously Brown can tackle in a game of rugby no better than he can tackle the country's economic problems.

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

The great Broon's electrifying Oxford speech is on his website (www.number10.gov.uk/Page18472) with no mention of the Einstein joke, and marked "[Check against delivery]"

Broon - an unpredictable improvisor then ?

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

This is somewhat off message but people should know about it. I am a long term South East Asia expat and my first assignment was in Malaysia. I registered with the British High Commission website and received their monthly updates. I was quite surprised the other day to receive an email from the FCO extolling the virtues of the London Summit starting 2 April. They had obtained my email address from the Malaysian BHC connection. The first part of their email was a puff for "The Road to the London Summit", G. Brown's puff for the "Grand Bargain". Surelythe FCO are completely out of order in using their email address databases in this way?

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

I apologise to Mr Assraper
Actualy

No I dont

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

I beat Jade to the front page

Tra Laa

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

Here comes the spin....Gordo and Obama against the werld.

One Downing Street aide described their White House meeting as an attempt to present a united front against the “forces of global conservatism”.

'I love you, you're my best mate you are, me and you against the werld...'

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

All this stuff is very important - but what about Ben Griffin! I can already hear you yawning. Well you shouldn't be. Bearing in mind he is an independent, apolitical public figure, he couldn't be more damning about the government's handling of the economy if he tried. Take this excerpt...

Most economists and ministers now believe that a prudent fiscal policy means not allowing public sector debt to exceed 40 per cent of GDP. But the Government is under no obligation to manage the public finances with this target in mind. Indeed, Britain is not even bound by the 60 per cent limit in the Maastricht treaty, as Margaret Thatcher managed to win an opt-out from the relevant article.

This is just as well, given what has happened since last year. With the debts of the nationalised and part-nationalised banks now on the public sector balance sheet, the ratio of public sector debt to GDP in the UK exceeds that of Italy and Japan. And it is set to grow much higher. On the basis of the planned levels of borrowing, it could exceed 65 per cent of GDP in 2010-11.

And at that scale of indebtedness, the Armageddon scenario most feared by the Treasury - that there will be insufficient lenders to match the planned level of borrowing - begins to look a distinct possibility.

That is why tax increases and spending cuts are inevitable immediately after the election, assuming that there are signs of economic recovery by then - and why any managers of a public service who are not planning now on the basis that they will have substantially less money to spend in two years time are living in cloud-cuckoo-land.

Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling will be furious at Bundred. But it goes to show just how much government is breaking down when a senior public servant feels free to write in these terms. He would never have dared do so when Brown was at the peak of his political powers.

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

Fucking Hell
Nobody (apart from Doris Assraper) should get on a ship departing from Southampton now that Fatty Jonah has been there.

The only way it could be any worse ship safety wise would be if some Hoon set up an on deck Albatross shooting contest.

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

City Minister Lord Mynah Bird swooped into central London M&S Mini store and swept away with a salsa wrap today.

Other news...Mrs Slocombe pussy is still lost

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

It seems Brown must've been supporting Wales.

WV: pulwrian - the welsh word for Jonah.

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

From the snot in my nose to the glassy stare of my red rimmed eye ..

I curse you all...

Re: Jonah Brown Sinks Southampton

Pure dynamite as Jack Straw undermines Brown tonight:

"I am ready to replace Brown as PM if asked declares Jack Straw"

http://www.thisislondon.co....
