protectionism is a socialist solution it's nothing to do with the right. Obama is a protectionist and he ain't on the right.

The BNP is a socialist party and a nationalist party, not a party of the right.

White workers have been let down by all parties, but partly it's because up to now, they don't get involved in politics much and if they do it's mainly on the socialist side.

Britain could stop immigration and even asylum if it wanted to, but you can't prevent companies getting stuff manufactured in cheaper parts of the world.

History will write the main outcome of this recession will be a GLOBAL GLUT of EMPLOYEES.

All that really matters is rates of employment. Pay people alot more and house prices go up alot more.

High employment globally has been sustained through debt. That bubble has now burst. I think we're looking at a 5-10% drop in global employment levels if the recession lasts as long as economists are predicting.

In five years time global unemployment will be up to 10% if the slack is taken up by cheap labour, with a 15% unemployment rate in the West. Alternately global unemployment will be up to 15% if the slack is taken up by high western labour costs, with a 10% unemployment rate in the UK.

It will take 15 years to recover and in that time we will need to protect our jobs.

We've turned Britain into an Orwellian nightmare of CCTVs and anti-terrorism law abuse by everyone from the plod to local councils.

We've introduced thousands of new laws and made it illegal for the self-employed to smoke a cigarette in their own vehicles.

We've killed the car industry by over-arching car-tax (VED) planned increases.

We've killed the public house industry by over-taxing alcohol, stifling live music and the smoking ban.

We sold out our I.T. industry to India.

We've killed our finance industry through overly complex and ineffectual regulation.

We've smothered employers in red tape.

We've ruined education and made it impossible for the next generation to compete against their foreign peers.

We've stolen, and wasted, billions from pension funds.

We've created the most expensive trains in Europe.

We've brought Britain to the very edge of bankruptcy.

ZaNuLab would be leading but 47 seats short of a majority so McBroon will cling onto office initially for a period to allow him to form coalition or to see if he could limp on and survive say the Queen's Speech, or indeed do a deal (even if not coalition) with another party to allow him to survive longer.

Queen could kill him off apparently but I suspect the country would resemble a war zone by then anyway and he would be bunkered or avoiding gangs of men carrying rope.

A troubling scenario nonetheless.

We should do our duty and precipitate his early demise by supporting this Petition and hoping that ZaNuLab knives will do the rest, rather than allow these morons time to regroup and bribe the bribeable parts of the electorate using YOUR money for their personal ends.

If McMoron gets elected I will be on the first plane out.

Blears says "I don't detect a serious clamour for a Conservative victory...". This point has been made many times over the last year or two, most often by Labour politicians or some sections of the media. The inference is that Brown and his party believe that because Cameron may not be everyone's cup of tea they still have some sort of chance at the next general election.

My guess is that Blears' proposition is probably right, more-or-less; people in general may not be dancing in the street at the prospect of a Tory government. Jeez, who's got cause to dance in the street about anything at the present time? Who's going to wait in rapture for the next government when we know we're in deep trouble for years to come. But where Blears and those of her ilk seem to have a blind-spot is harbouring a notion that because fever-pitch has not yet been reached for the Tories (nor, in truth, is it likely to be), in some way there is still a degree of patience with, or affection, or support for the Labour Party.

And Blears has to be wrong in this analysis (vain hope?). For the simple fact surely must be that the events of the fag-end of the Major government and the gross let-down of New Labour shortly after the heady days of 1997 and super-smooth, plausible Blair; allied to LibDems perpetually lurking ineffectually in the background, mean that in the foreseeable future no political party is likely to be welcomed with open arms - other than perhaps if the welcome may be engendered solely by a some sense of relief - by a battered and rightly cynical British public. Too many people after 1997 learned a powerful lesson after getting prematurely excited, by being a little too trusting, about a so-called new style of politics - 'the new day dawning' - only to suffer growing, bitter disappointment and, now, gnawing resentment.

The disillusionment with a surfeit of dishonesty, lies, sleaze, issues of expenses and snouts in troughs, cronyism, and incompetence is almost tangible. Where the majority of politicians are seen as egregious, self-seeking graspers, who's going to "clamour" for ANY party's election victory. Where's any sort of euphoria going to come from?

And Blears must understand that even if the Tories happen to be dubbed best worst party for the next government, it won't stop the landslide that will deservedly anihilate New Labour.
